This was announced by the Minister of Interior, Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola, on Thursday.

Aregbesola in a statement titled, “FG declares Monday, May 3, 2021 public holiday to mark 2021 workers’ day celebration’, signed by the Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Interior, Shuaibu Belgore, congratulated the Nigerian workers on witnessing another edition of Workers’ day.

He, however, urged the Nigerian workers to be more dedicated and patriotic in carrying out their services to the country.

He also commended the workers for their patience, understanding and support in implementing the policies and programmes made under the administration of President Muhammadu Buhari.

According to Aregbesola, the President has “determination to move the country to the next level of socio-economic development.”

“Government is putting all strategies in place to curb the challenges of insecurity in the country. I therefore call on the labour force and all patriotic citizens to be fully committed to the task of putting insecurity to a permanent end as much as possible,” the minister added.
