With less than four weeks to his inauguration, the Women In Politics Forum (WIPF), a None Governmental Organisation(NGO) has vowed to ambush the President Elect, Asiwaju Ahmed Bola Tinubu should he reneged on his electoral promises of giving 35% appointment to women in his administration.

The WIPF National President, Barr. Ebere Ifendu who made this declaration in Abuja, alerted that Nigerian women are battle ready to fight their exclusion from government.

“We are waiting for the inauguration of the President Elect, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu on May 29. After that, he will begin appointment of officers to his cabinet. We shall not compromise anything less than 35% of women’s representation in government.

” Virtually all the Presidential candidates of all the political parties canvassing and seeking for women’s votes, signed a commitment document for us because a space was provided for that.

“They agreed that 35% appointive positions would be given to women. I’m optimistic that Nigerian women would have a good time in the government of the President Elect.

“However, we wait until the President Elect, Tinubu is sworn in and he begins to appoint members of his cabinet, we will begin to raise questions,” she said.

Ifendu who also doubles as the National Publicity Secretary of the Labour Party, urged Nigeria women to be focused in order to guide against exclusion from government.
