…Backs Tinubu
Barely forty eight hours President Mohammedu Buhari promised to campaign with the All Progressive Congress, APC presidential candidate, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu in no fewer than 10 states, the President, in an apparent bid to make good his promise, stormed the party mega rally yesterday in Yola.
The president who mounted the podium with the party’s national chairman, Alhaji Adamu, the Adamawa state Governorship candidate, the party’s presidential flag bearer, Bola Tinubu and host of other party supporters and loyalists, campaigned vigorously, urging the electorates to vote en mass for the Party.
This action has put to rest speculations that President Buhari was deeply angered by Tinubu’s earlier claim that he single handedly fought for the electoral victory of the president in 2015.
Ironically, that Tinubu’s reported declaration of being a kingmaker, eventually metamorphosis into a subject of whispering entertainment in the nation’s political space as it became a ready tool, deployed by the opposition to launch attack against the party.
It was alleged in certain quarters that the President who was visibly disturbed by the statements of Tinubu, reclined to his political cocoon, adding that “If he (Tinubu) single handedly made him, Buhari, the president of Nigeria in 2015, then let him make himself .
But what appears to be a twist to the wild speculation, president Mohammedu Buhari, about two days ago, explained that his prolonged absence at the APC presidential candidate’s campaigns was due mainly to his busy schedule.
Against this back drop, president Buhari promised to campaign with the party’s presidential candidate, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu in not less than ten states before the eclipse of the exercise.
Though, President Buhari had earlier campaigned with Tinubu in Jos, plateau state mega rally, thereafter, he was reported to have reclined into his shelf.
It’s however pertinent to note that President Buhari’s yesterday appearance was the second time he has featured in Tinubu’s campaign train since the political gong started sounding.
The president at the Yola rally, assured that Tinubu would consolidate on his legacies of providing health care, sound education program and provisions of social infrastructure.
