The All-Progressives Congress (APC) Presidential aspirants screening exercise is already underway at the Transcorp Hilton, Abuja.

A former Ogun State Governor and a current Senator, Ibikunle Amosun is the first aspirant to arrive at the venue. Going by its internal protocols, it is believed that on account of this, Amosun would be the first to be screened.

The screening panel is chaired by Chief John Odigie Oyegun, the first national chairman of the ruling APC.

On seat with Oyegun are Senator Adamu Abdullahi, the party’s National Chairman and Chief Iyiola Omisore, the National Secretary of the party.

It would be recalled that the ruling party had scheduled Monday 30 May and Tuesday 31 May respectively to screen its 23 Presidential hopefuls seeking to grab the sole presidential ticket of the party in the forthcoming primary elections coming up from June 6-8, 2022.

The cleared presidential aspirants proceeding for the screening exercise are the National Leader of the party, Ahmed Tinubu, Vice President Yemi Osinbajo, Ahmad Lawan, Rotimi Amaechi, Dimeji Bankole, Kayode Fayemi and Yahaya Bello.

Others are Chukwuemeja Uwaezuoke Nwajiuba, Badaru Abubakar, Robert A. Boroffice, Uju Ken-Ohanenye, Nicholas Felix, Nweze David Umahi, Ken Nnamani, Tunde Bakare and Ibikunle Amosun.

The rest are Ahmad Rufai Sani, Godswill Obot Akpabio, Rochas Anayo Okorocha, Tein Jack-Rich, Christopher Onu, Ben Ayade and Ikeobasi Mokelu

The first stage of the screening process was done last week as security agencies conducted a background check on all the aspirants.
