  • PDP Youths Threaten To Shut down Wadata House, Dump Party… Say PDP Bleeding

Count down to 2023 general elections, Arewa PDP Support group has picked holes in the leadership of Prince Uche Secondus as the National Chairman of the main opposition party, People’s Democratic Party (PDP), demanding for his immediate resignation.

Members of the group also threatened to dump the PDP in droves if Secondus fails to resign from his postion before next Tuesday, 10th August, 2021.

This followed the allegation that he has been unable to provide required leadership for the party ahead of the forthcoming democratic tussles.

Decrying the tenure of the PDP National chairman, the concerned youth group who declared that the Party is presently bleeding, feared that if nothing is done urgently to address the numerous challenges bedevilling the PDP, the party could head towards a total collapse.

Addressing a press conference in Kaduna on Friday, the national  Cordinator of the group, Hon Yahaya Salisu said the decision to demand for the resignation of the national chairman was reached after a meeting of the national leadership of the Group with its 19 Northern States Coordinators in Kaduna on 5th August 2021 where the affairs of the party was deliberated upon extensively.

According to the text of the briefing which was jointly signed by the national Co-ordinator, Comrade Salisu and and the national Secretary Hon Desmond Minakaro, the group posited that, “our beloved PDP is currently bleeding and that is unacceptable to us. It must not be allowed to continue bleeding and with the information available from both factions within the NWC and the recent resignation of about seven National Officers of the party, it is obvious that someone is trading with the integrity and soul of our party”.

The group said their findings revealed that the National Chairman of the PDP, Secondus is the reason behind the present crisis within the party, adding that he is the reason why the party is loosing members to the ruling party.

“We wish to call on the National Chairman, Uche Secondus to Resign with immediate effect, so as to safe our party from total collapse, as already, we have lost Governors, BoT member, National Officers, Senators, House of Representative members and many to the APC.

“Our National Youth Leader Hon Odey have threatened to resign, if Uche Secondus fail to vacate office and we CAN NOT sacrifice our leader for one selfish, corrupt and incompetent leader.

“if our NEC, NWC, BoT and other critical stakeholders of the party fail to positively intervene by asking the National Chairman, Uche Secondus to resign, we of Arewa PDP Youth Forum, will mobilized our members from the 19 Northern States and FCT for a total closure of the Wadata Plaza, in the first instance on Tuesday, 10th August, 2023 and if that fails to yield result, we will have no other option than to re-mobilized and resign our membership of PDP in multitude, with immediate effect.

“These collective endorsed decisions are bound out of a sincere desire to safe our party from hijack and subsequent losing of the 2023 general elections.

“Finally, we wish to call on all meaningful leaders and members of our great party, the PDP, to be steadfast and prayerful. It is our believe, that the internal conflict resolution mechanism activated by NWC will consider our resolutions” the group stated.
