The Solewant Group, a key indigenous player in Africa’s energy and industrial sector, is set to host the 9th Annual Energy Summit in Port Harcourt, reinforcing its commitment to technological innovation and continental self-reliance.
Scheduled for November 26–28, 2025, at the Solewant Industrial Park in Alode-Onne, the event is said to be a platform for advancing the discussion on a sustainable and digitally-driven African energy landscape.
The highly anticipated summit, themed “Emerging Technologies and the Future of Sustainable Energy Development in Africa,” will gather over 1,000 participants and 200 exhibitors, including policymakers, energy executives, financiers, technology experts, and media organisations, including The New Diplomat.
It was also gathered that the 9th Solewant Group Energy Summit is supported by key industry stakeholders, including the Nigerian Content Development and Monitoring Board (NCDMB), the Petroleum Technology Association of Nigeria (PETAN), the Oil and Gas Trainers Association of Nigeria (OGTAN), and the Solewant Energy Training Institute (SETI).
This was made known by the Group Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of Solewant Group, Mr Solomon Ewanehi, during a press interview with Arise TV and monitored by The New Diplomat.
Ewanehi stated that the Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF), George Akume will be delivering the keynote address during the summit.
Ewanehi stated: “Yes, this is our ninth edition of the Africa Energy Summit, and the summit is coming up on the 26th, 27th, and 28th of November, 2025, we will be having the Secretary to the Government of of the Federation (SGF) as the special guest, and he will be delivering the keynote address on behalf of the presidency. And we have other policy makers attending, including industry experts.
“We have the legislators, and we have the researchers, the academia and exhibitors, we are setting over 1000 energy experts converging at the sole one industrial park.
“We have over 100 energy institutions that will be participating in exhibiting their products and services, including the development finance institutions, the commercial banks, they have been knocking on our doors, and we will be having one of the pegs of the trade show within our industrial park. It’s not about a single pipe coating service. It’s about African energy.”
He added that the summit will focus on domestication, technology transfer, and innovation in areas such as pipeline coating, feed joint coating, and asset protection for oil and gas facilities.
“We need to deploy the best technologies in the world to strengthen our local systems. The goal is to indigenise these technologies, create jobs for young engineers, and build capacity that supports sustainable growth in the energy sector,” he said.
It would be recalled that this year’s Annual Energy Summit by Solewant Group is in its 9th year. It started in 2017. The 8th edition of the summit was held in November 2024,
Speaking about the ongoing Nigerian Upstream Petroleum Regulatory Commission (NUPRC) ‘Project 1MMBOPD’ Additional Production Investment Forum in London, United Kingdom, Ewanehi said the international investment roadshow was key to attracting additional investment in the oil and gas sector.
He continued: “Energy experts are talking about how to deepen our operations. All that we are talking about is increasing the production of crude oil by 1 million barrels per day.
“And currently, you are aware that we are now at the threshold of between 1.7 and 1.8 million barrels per day. And the key takeaway for today’s section is that we have a strong commitment to transparency; we need to be transparent with what we are doing, because it affects us across the globe. We need to be transparent. You know, data is key to our energy boxing. So we’re talking about transparency.”
