Mudashiru Obasa, the immediate past Speaker of the Lagos State House of Assembly, made a dramatic move by entering the Assembly complex on Thursday, saying that he has Resumed as Speaker of the House.

It was gathered that he arrived around noon and headed straight for the Speaker’s office.

Sources knowledgeable about the matter said Obasa walked in with over 11 police officers,

This came right after security details attached to the current Speaker, Mojisola Meranda, were unceremoniously withdrawn.

It would be recalled that Obasa had been impeached back in January by a majority of members of the Assembly over allegations of fraud and misconduct.

However, he has since rejected the impeachment, claiming it’s unconstitutional. He has also filed a lawsuit to challenge his impeachment.
More details coming as event unfold…
