Some angry Nigerian fans on Tuesday night trooped to Moshood Abiola National stadium pitch following the failure of the Super Eagles to clinch a spot at the 2022 World Cup.

The angry fans, in a viral video were sighted destroying several facilties in the stadium.

Following the blast of the whistle, the fans rushed out of the stands, pushing over dugouts and advertising boards.

Nigeria will not be represented at the 2022 World Cup after the Super Eagles failed to defeat the Black Stars of Ghana in a two-legged game.

The super eagles drew both games against their West African opponent.

They played out a 0-0 draw in Kumasi at the Ohene Djan Sports Stadium. In the reverse leg played at the Moshood Abiola Stadium, the match ended in a 1-1 draw.

The visitors took the lead through Thomas Partey. The Arsenal midfielder saw his long range effort squirm under Francis Uzoho to give Ghana the lead.

However, Nigeria drew level, after VAR awarded a penalty for a foul on Ademola Lookman. Captain William Troost-Ekong stepped up to make it 1-1.

With the draw, Ghana qualified on an away goal advantage. The failure to qualify for the World Cup was Super Eagles’ first since 2006.
