The Super Eagles of Nigeria has released a 23-man squad list ahead of the qualifiers for the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON).
The New Diplomat reports that prolific striker, Victor Osimhen has been left out of Nigeria’s squad.
In the list released on Saturday, Head Coach Augustine Eguavoen explained that Osimhen was left out of the squad due to injury concerns.
However, Atalanta forward Ballon d’or nominee, Ademola Lookman is in the 23-man squad.
Nigeria will take on the Mediterranean Knights of Libya in a home-and-away tussle.
The three-time AFCON winners will host Libya at the Godswill Akpabio Stadium in Uyo on Friday, 11th October, before heading to Benghazi to take on the Knights at the Martyrs of Benina Stadium on Tuesday, 15th October.
