Social media activist Martin Otse, also known as VeryDarkMan (VDM), in a social media post on Monday has revealed that popular crossdresser Idris Okuneye, also known as Bobrisky, has been allegedly arrested by operatives of the Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS).

VeryDarkMan, in an Instagram post, said Bobrisky was allegedly arrested by the operatives of the NIS at the Seme border when he was attempting to escape from Nigeria to the neighbouring Benin Republic.

He claimed that the crossdresser was allegedly attempting to ignore the invitation of the House of Representatives over bribery allegations against officials of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) and Nigerian Correctional Service (NCoS).

He said: “Bobrisky was arrested this morning at Seme border post on his way to escape to Benin Republic. He sent someone to help him sign his international passport, and he hid in his car. The Nigerian immigration service is currently holding him.”

It would be recalled that Bobrisky had been facing stormy waters after VeryDarkMan shared an audio.

In the audio, Bobrisky purportedly claimed that he bribed some Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) officials to drop money laundering charges against him.

In the audio, a voice allegedly belonging to Bobrisky also claimed that a “godfather”, alongside Haliru Nababa, the controller general of the Nigerian Correctional Service (NCoS), ensured she served the six-month sentence in a private apartment and not in prison.

However, the EFCC and the NCoS had denied the allegations, with the Federal government and the House of Representatives setting up investigative panels to look into the matter.
