A renowned Educationist and proprietor of Westminster College, Lagos, Chief Johnson Barovbe, is dead.

Barovbe who, until his death, was an astute education administrator and a Lagos-based socialite, hailed from Ovu in Ethiope East Local Government Area of Delta State.

A source from his family confirmed the late Urhobo leader passed on on Monday 28, December after a brief illness. He was the Okuna of Agbon kingdom.

A brief profile of late Barovbe indicates that he was born on June 12, 1945 in Ovu Inland in Ethiope East Local Government Area of Delta State.

He attended Catholic Primary School, Ovu Inland, Catholic Secondary Modern School, Okpara Inland, Provincial Teachers Training College, Warri and Middlesex University, London. He also attended University of Bradford, West Yorkshire in the UK.

Barovbe’s work experience spanned local, national and international levels, including holding different managerial positions in some blue Chip companies.

He established the prestigious Westminster College, Lagos and he was also the managing director of Modika Property Development Company, Lagos.

A myriad of reactions to the death of the Urhobo Patriot confirmed his demise will be a great loss to the entire Urhobo nation, Delta State and Nigeria in general.
