The Nigeria Center for Disease Control (NCDC) confirmed 313 new Covid-19 infections and 5 deaths in the country on Sunday.

So far, 7839 cases have been confirmed in 34 states and the Federal Capital Territory.

The 313 new cases are reported from 17 states- Lagos (148), FCT (36), Rivers (27), Edo (19), Kano (13), Ogun (12), Ebonyi (11), Nasarawa (8), Delta (8), Oyo (7), Plateau (6), Kaduna (5), Kwara (4), Akwa Ibom (3), Bayelsa (3), Niger (2), Anambra (1)

Meanwhile, no new state has reported a case in the last 24 hours, indicating that Kogi and Cross Rivers states are yet to appear on the national tally almost three months after Nigeria confirmed its Index case on 27th February.

Nigeria, with a population of over 200 million people has tested only 44,458 for the virus. Of the total confirmed cases, NCDC said 2263 patients have recovered from the infection, while 226 people have died of Covid-19 related ailments.
