Cyril Mudiagbe, an aide to the Deputy President of the Senate, Senator Ovie Omo-Agege has been reportedly murdered by some unknown gunmen.

Mudiagbe, also hailed as Makanaki, is a popular member of the All Progressives Congress in Ward 6, Sapele, Delta state.

According to the Punch, he was said to have been murdered in his house in the Decima area of Sapele between Saturday night and early Sunday as his lifeless body was reportedly found in the pool of his blood on Sunday morning.

A neighbour, identified as Eniagbe, who spoke with the member of the press said the gunmen shot the deceased through the window.

He revealed that the assailants were possibly members of an armed robbery syndicate who were in the locality on robbery operation.

“They were banging his window and when he opened his window, he was shot in the chest”, he said.

Reacting to the sad news, the Police Public Relations Officer for Delta State Command, DSP Bright Edafe, said police were still seeking more details on the incident.
