The Vice-Chancellor of the University of Lagos (UNILAG), Professor Oluwatoyin Ogundipe, has been sacked by the governing council of the institution.
Mr Ogundipe was removed at the council’s meeting held on Wednesday at the headquarters of the National Universities Commission (NUC) in Abuja
The former UNILAG Vice Chancellor was accused of financial impropriety and gross misconduct.

At least 11 council members including the VC were said to have been present at the meeting, majority of them, voted for the removal of Mr Ogundipe.
The university governing council and the management had been at logger heads for some time and this lead to the sudden cancellation of its 2020 convocation in March
