- Salute Omo–Agege As Visionary Leader

Nigeria’s President Muhammadu Buhari has been lauded by the Ughievwen Elites Club on the appointment of their son, Mr Oma Djebah as an ambassadorial nominee, and his subsequent confirmation by the Senate.
Mr Djebah, a former Commissioner for Information in Delta State and Senior Special Adviser on Foreign Relations to the Delta State Governor was among the non-career Ambassadorial nominees recently screened and confirmed by the Senate.
Mr Djebah, a distinguished journalist who is the immediate past chairman of the Board of The New Diplomat Multi-media limited, publishers of The New Diplomat newspapers was a former editor of THISDAY newspapers. Another senior editor who was similarly confirmed alongside Mr Djebah is Mr Debo Adesina, the immediate past editor-in-chief of The Guardian newspaper.

The Ugheivwen Elites club which is a socio-cultural organization with its operational base in Delta State is organized in chapters spread across Lagos, Warri, Benin and Asaba. Other jurisdictions it operates include Europe and North America.
In addition to applauding the President, the Club also commended the Deputy Senate President, Senator Ovie Omo-Agege for his laudable role in the entire process.
In their statement, the Club lauded President Buhari for his commitment to expertise, efficiency and capacity building that has culminated in his choice of the credible men and women that made up the ambassadorial list, noting that they were drawn from people with robust academic, professional and public service background. According to the Club, this is in the overall best interest of the nation.
On their son in particular, the Club described the appointee as a thoroughbred professional with robust academic background.
A statement released by the Club noted that “Oma Djebah who is now called on board to serve Nigeria in the capacity of Ambassador is one of our best that has been forged in the crucible of the ivy- league of learning.”

Signed by the National President of the Club, Barrister Michael Djebah, the Club expressed appreciation to President Buhari for his choice of excellent materials. The Club equally commended the Deputy Senate President, and Senator Representing Delta Central at the Upper legislative Chambers for the honour.
“President Buhari have done well in appointing our own Oma Djebah as Ambassador-nominee. I am convinced that Mr. President’s decision to pick Oma to come on board to serve his fatherland at the ambassadorial level is borne out of the Federal Government’s determination to use her best available hands to actualize the next level agenda of the incumbent administration. We salute the vision of the Deputy Senate President, Senator Ovie Omo Agege for the honour done to us. ”
The statement also noted that, Djebah having served meritoriously in his previous public and private sector assignments is indeed well equipped to take up the role, duties and responsibilities of Ambassador.
The statement added that it is clear that Mr Djebah got the well deserved appointment on account of his compelling and strong background as he has always been a hard working, dedicated and solid professional who always finish strong wherever he found himself.
Barrister Michael Djebah in the statement pointed out that he has no doubt that Mr Oma Djebah would definitely draw upon his wealth of experience to serve the nation, while also bringing in his vast range of exposure on the global stage to wherever he is posted to serve as an Ambassador.
On his part, Sir Henry Kojo, the National Vice President of the Ughievwen Elites Club also expressed delight on the appointment. He said: “The widespread jubilation and cross-cutting expression of support over the appointment of Oma Djebah as Ambassador, both in the mainstream and social media clearly demonstrates the suitability of Oma Djebah as a good choice made by President Buhari. We salute the DSP, Senator Ovie Omo-Agege for his vision.
‘Indeed, I must note with emphasis that, the popular media galore and wide jubilation which greeted the announcement of the appointee’s name in my estimation speaks volumes that the man Oma Djebah is indeed tailor-made for the job.”
Similarly, the Secretary of the Club, Dr. lsaac Makilolo, prayed that God Almighty would give the Ambassador-designate good health in the discharge the duties of his new national assignment.
On the appointee’s suitability for the role and accompanying capacity to perform, he said: “we are not surprised at the appointment because Oma Djebah has long been prepared for assignments of this magnitude with so many academic laurels to his credit.”
“As a tested and trusted hand in Government, I am confident that Oma Djebah will explore his versatility with all patriotic zeal in the service of our country, Nigeria,” the scribe concluded.
