Governor Udom Emmanuel has sworn in 18 commissioners and two Special advisers into Akwa-Ibom State Executive yesterday.

Interestingly, nine out of these new commissioners that served in the last executive made his new team.

Among the new commissioners were former Brand Manager of Wema, Zenith and First Bank, Charles Udo; Prof Eno Ikpe, Dean of Faculty History and International Studies, University of Uyo and others.

Commending the former commissioners for selfless service at the banquet hall, government house Uyo, Udom said their loyalty is needed more after service.

Appreciating the newly sworn-in commissioners which he called ‘team of doers’, Udom charged them to ignore the distraction and focus on what could foster progress in the state.

The Governor called for a change of mindset to competence, creative ideas to renew Akwa-ibom spirit and commitment to industrialisation.

He, however, charged the new commissioners to be ready to pray together for the success of the State. The 20 commissioners and SA were selected from 10 federal constituencies of Akwa-ibom State.
