Arsenal Football Club has qualified for the quarter-finals of the UEFA Champions League (UCL) after a thrilling 4-2 penalty shootout win against Portuguese side FC Porto at the Emirates Stadium on Tuesday night.

Despite Arsenal’s one goal in the 40th minute courtesy of Oleksandra Trossard, it was not enough to take the Gunners to the next round as the match ended 1-1 on aggregate after extra time.

In the penalty shootout, Martin Odegaard took the first kick and found the back of the net to put Arsenal in the lead.

Pepe, a player for Porto, promptly reacted and scored a goal to make it 1-1. Kai Havertz increased the tally by 2-1.

Wendell attempted his kick, but Raya, Arsenal’s goalkeeper, managed to tip the ball onto the post, causing excitement and joy among the fans at the Emirates Stadium.

Bukayo Saka scored to give Arsenal a two-goal lead, then Marko Grujić narrowed it to 3-2.

Declan Rice’s goal made it a crucial point in the match.

Porto’s chance for another kick was denied after their winger, Wenderson Galeno, played the ball into the hands of Raya, sparking excitement among the home crowd as Arsenal prevailed.
