Ahead of the 2023 presidential election, two former Heads of State have expressed their willingness to support and work for the presidential candidate of the Labour Party, Peter Obi, Convener of The BIG-TENT coalition of political parties, social movements and civil society organisations, Prof Pat Utomi, has revealed.

Utomi, a renowned economist who disclosed this while speaking at a town hall meeting organised by The BIG-TENT said the two former heads of state are working behind the scenes to ensure credible structures are in place to help Obi win the forthcoming general election.

While Utomi failed to identify the two former head of state, he said they both agreed to join the Obi-dient movement without switching allegiance to the Labour Party.

According to him, the underground work is going to shock the members of the opposition party come 2023.

Utomi said, “Money alone doesn’t win elections. Two former Heads of State have said to me they are Obi-dients. A lot of people want to join the (Obi-dient) movement without joining Labour Party to ensure that Peter Obi and Datti Ahmed win to capture our country back from those who have held us down.

“The LP has better structures than PDP and APC. When people talk about structures, I laugh because they don’t understand the meaning of structure. The structure is a criminal network of people who can fix elections and we have to stop that; that’s not structure.

“We at The BIG-TENT have worked at developing real structures and they are going to be shocked at what they will see. Many of the Peter Obi Support Groups have structures on their own that can win these elections. At every poll during the election day, we will have 20 people who belong to these structures.”
