At least two persons have been reported dead and many others injured as two rival cult group clashed in Orhowhorun, near Warri, Delta State.
The two rivalry cult groups engaged themselves in a bloodbath during a birthday party which a member of one of the groups threw for his female acquaintance on Sunday.
It was gathered that the birthday party held at House of Nazareth Hotel, one of the popular hotels in the locality, was ongoing when one of the cult groups invaded the venue around 4:30pm.

The invaders were said to have trailed their victims who are students of Delta State University, Abraka to Orhowhorun where they engaged themselves in the fracas.
It was not clear what led to the fracas but sources disclosed that by the time the dust which the confrontation raised cleared, two persons lay dead on the floor while two others were rushed to a nearby hospital for multiple injuries sustained from a bottle stab.
According to the a source, one of the surviving victims suffered multiple stab on the eye and was seen bleeding profusely and writhing in pain at the scene until he was rushed to an undisclosed hospital for treatment.
“Guests and fun seekers at the hotel scampered for safety by scaling the hotel fence.The clash happened at House of Nazareth Hotel, one of the popular hotels, in the locality”, an eyewitness said.
“We learnt one of the cult groups is Aye. The other rival cult members trailed the Aye members from Abraka where they clashed. One of them was holding a birthday party for his girlfriend. They came from Abraka too”, one of the sources claimed.
“Two people were stabbed to death. Two were injured. One of them was stabbed right in his eyes and he fainted. I can’t tell if he died too.
“We’re relaxing at the hotel when we heard the violence. We had to scale the hotel fence to escape for our own lives”, the eyewitness said.

All efforts to get comment from the State Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Onome Onovwakpoyeya, were unsuccessful as of press time.
