The word’s richest man and owner of Tesla and Space X, Elon Musk, has said, he was joking when he tweeted about Manchester United takeover.
Musk in a tweet posted on his verified Twitter handle @elonmusk, Wednesday, said: “No, this is a long-running joke on Twitter. I’m not buying any sports teams.”
He further explained that, if he has any intention to buy any club, it would be Manchester United.
“Although, if it were any team, it would be Man U. They were my fav team as a kid.”
It would be recalled that on Wednesday, Musk posted a tweet on his verified page announcing his intentions to buy Manchester United.
According to Billionaire, he tweeted “Also, I’m buying Manchester United ur welcome”.
Recall also that On April 14, Musk had offered to buy 100 per cent of Twitter for $54.20 per share in cash.
However, there have been controversies surrounding the Twitter takeover bid after Musk, On May 13, announced that, he has halted his $44 billion Twitter takeover.
According to Musk, he needed to resolve concerns over the number of fake or spam accounts on the platform.
Tweeter in a lawsuit filed before the Delaware Court of Chancery said Musk after entering into a binding merger agreement refused to honor his obligations to Twitter and its stockholders because the deal he signed no longer serves his personal interests.
