At a Republican National Convention event which held weekend, former United States President Donald Trump issued a strong warning to those he said are holding Americans captive in Gaza.
Delivering a speech at Fiserv Forum in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, Trump who addressed the situation in Gaza said he was speaking directly to Hamas, demanding the immediate release of American hostages.
“We want our hostages back. And they better be back before I assume office, or you will be paying a very big price,” Trump warned.
Trump is the 2024 presidential candidate for the Republican Party. Highlighting what his leadership would look like if he wins the November election, Trump promised to end what he described as the current period of “war, weakness, and chaos.”
He also emphasised his ability to prevent international conflicts, boasting that he “could stop wars with just a telephone call.”
Trump claimed that the attack on Israel on October 7 would not have occurred under his presidency and criticized the President Joe Biden’s administration’s handling of the crisis.
Concluding his speech, Trump reaffirmed his support for Israel and his commitment to a tough stance against terrorism, pledging that the United States would respond more forcefully to external challenges under his leadership.
