US Vice President Kamala Harris and presidential hopeful in the upcoming American presidential election has vowed to defeat former President Donald Trump in the forthcoming presidential election.

Harris who took over the campaign rally in an energetic mood after President Joe Biden gave up his presidential nomination said Trump is not a good fit for Americans.

She accused Trump of being a liar, a fraudster and a cheat in her first rally since taking over the Democratic presidential campaign from Biden.

Speaking in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, on Tuesday, the vice president said her track record is proof of a wide distinction between herself and Trump.

She said: “I was elected attorney general of the state of California and I was a corporate prosecutor before that, and in that role, I took on perpetrators of all kinds.

“Predators who abused women, fraudsters who ripped off consumers, and cheaters who broke the rules for their gain.

“So hear me when I say I know Donald Trump’s type.”

The New Diplomat reports that Harris has hit the ground running since accepting to contest the presidential election of the US.

She has also received support from Democratic convention delegates and has been tipped to emerge as the party’s presidential candidate.

According to reports, the vice president has raised a record $81 million (£63 million) in direct donations within 24,hours after Biden stepped down, with a further $150 million (£116 million) pledged via the Biden-aligned political action committee, Future Forward.
