Tesla owner, Elon Musk, has expressed disappointment over the decision of many House Democrats who voted against a bill aimed at deporting undocumented immigrants convicted of sex crimes in the United States.

Musk, who is an ally of the President-elect, Donald Trump, called for the removal of all the Democrats opposing the bill.

No fewer than 158 Democrats are against the bill. Musk tweeted, “These awful people all need to be voted out, either in the primaries or the general election. They sully the Capitol Building with their presence.”

The bill, passed by the House in September 2024, garnered unanimous Republican support and votes from 51 Democrats.
The legislation specifically targeted individuals convicted of serious crimes such as rape, pedophilia, domestic abuse, and stalking.

Supporters of the bill argued that it was a necessary step to protect victims and uphold public safety. Critics, however, contended that the bill unfairly “demonized immigrants” and perpetuated harmful stereotypes.

Among those who opposed the bill were notable Democrats, including Nancy Pelosi (California), Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (New York), Ayanna Pressley (Massachusetts), and Pramila Jayapal (Washington).
Critics of the vote questioned the rationale behind shielding individuals convicted of such heinous crimes from deportation.
