Eleven of the persons abducted during an attack on an Abuja-Kaduna train in March have been freed after spending two months in captivity.

Alhaji Tukur Mamu, the negotiator and media consultant to popular Islamic cleric, Sheikh Ahmad Gumi, confirmed the development.

Mamu said the 11 victims were released on Saturday. According to him, they include six females and five males.

He also disclosed that the released victims are currently on their way to Abuja on the order of the President Muhammadu Buhari
for medical evaluation and treatment before they will be reunited them with their families.

It would be recalled that some terrorists had on March 28 attacked the Abuja-Kaduna train, leading to the death of eight passengers while several others were kidnapped.
