The Ogun State Police command has arrested three suspected armed robbers who allegedly robbed a supermarket owned by popular Gospel musician, Tope Alabi.

The supermarket which is located in Atan, Ado-Odo/Ota Local Government Area of Ogun State, came under attack on June 22 at about 9:45 pm.

The people around the premises were said to have put an emergency call through to the police team. The team of police who responded immediately apprehended the three suspects after a hard chase.

The Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), Ogun State Command, Abimbola Oyeyemi, confirmed the incident on Monday.

The spokesperson revealed that Alabi, alongside other people in the supermarket were held hostage by the armed robbers, adding that the suspects took a huge sum of money.

Oyeyemi identified the suspects as Anu Ibikunle (32 years), Rasheed Bisiriyu (22 years) and Adebowale Dada (25 years).

He also revealed that a locally-made pistol, two live cartridges, and assorted dangerous charms were recovered from the suspects.
