President Bola Tinubu has approved the suspension of Ms. Halima Shehu, the National Coordinator and CEO of the National Social Investment Program Agency (NSIPA), triggering mixed reactions.

Shehu was suspended following allegations of financial misconduct. This sack is coming three months after Shehu was named to the position.

It would be recalled that Shehu was appointed on Wednesday, October 18, 2023, to head the NSIPA.

Meanwhile, Dr. Akindele Egbuwalo, the National N-POWER Program Manager, has been appointed as the acting NC/CEO in light of the suspension and ongoing investigation into the allegations.
While reacting to this development, while some saw it as surprising, others believe it is normal to ease out any public officer who is caught in inappropriate acts.
