President Bola Tinubu has approved the appointment of five executive directors to the board of the North Central Development Commission (NCDC).
The appointments were announced on Tuesday in a statement by Segun Imohiosen, Director of Information and Public Relations in the Office of the Secretary to the Government of the Federation.
The new directors are Biliquis Sanni (Administration and Human Resources), Aisha Ibrahim (Commercial and Industrial Development), James Uloko (Corporate Services), Muhammad Bashar (Finance), and Atika Ajanah (Projects).
Imohiosen said the appointees are expected to support the commission in fulfilling its statutory mandate. President Tinubu also charged them to work in synergy with the governing board to “promote and coordinate the sustainable development of the North-Central geopolitical zone.”
The NCDC was established in February 2025 following the President’s assent to the North Central Development Commission Bill. It is mandated to drive infrastructure development, tackle ecological challenges, and stimulate economic growth across the region.
The commission’s jurisdiction covers Benue, Kogi, Kwara, Nasarawa, Niger and Plateau States, as well as the Federal Capital Territory, areas that have grappled with insecurity, flooding, and other developmental challenges.
