There is a heavy security presence in Isiokpo community, Ikwerre Local Government Area of Rivers State, as the family of the late former Group Chief Executive Officer (GCEO) of Access Holdings Plc, Dr. Herbert Wigwe, is laid to final rest

The New Diplomat gathered that Governor Siminalayi Fubara of Rivers State; Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu of Lagos State and Governor Douye Diri of Bayelsa State are among the dignitaries present at the Redeemed Christian Church (RCCG) Lion of Judah Parish, Isiokpo, where the burial of Wigwe, wife, Chizoba and son Chizi, is been held.

Founder and Chairman of Dangote Group, Aliko Dangote; former Minister of Transportation, Chibuike Amaechi: 2023 Labour Party presidential candidate, Peter Obi and former Senate President, Bukola Saraki are also at the funeral

Others in attendance at the funeral service are the Immediate past Bayelsa Governor Senator Seriake Dickson and former Ekiti Governor Kayode Fayemi.

The New Diplomat reports that Wigwe who until his death was the Chief Executive of Access Holdings, his wife, and 29-year-old son were among those aboard the ill-fated helicopter in California on February 9, 2024.
