Security has been beefed up at the main gates to the National Assembly as President Muhammadu Buhari presents the 2023 budget to the National Assembly today, Friday, 7th of October.

The New Diplomat gathered that scores of Security personnel from the Nigeria Police Force (NPF), Department of State Services (DSS), Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), among others have been deployed to man strategic locations around the National Assembly complex.

Meanwhile, Buhari is set to present his final budget presentation to the lawmakers as his administration leaves office in May next year.

The president will present the budget before a joint session of the Senate and the House of Representatives.

In a letter to both Chambers on Tuesday, Buhari had informed the lawmakers of his intention to appear before them to present the 2023 Appropriation Bill.
