A tussle over the collection of parking fees from trucks at Uselu-Nahor Community by the Benin-Lagos bypass in Uhunmwonde Local Government Area of Edo State has resulted in the violent death of three persons.

The victims who included one Osahon, the Chief Security Officer of the community were gunned down in the early hours of Wednesday

It was gathered that some unidentified gunmen opened fire at the victims while they were on duty collecting parking fee at the Ahor Kara where long distance trucks normally park their vehicles at night.

A community source who would not want his name in print accused one Akpan, the Okaigele of the community of being the primary suspect who masterminded the attack due to a lingering leadership crisis currently rocking the small town.

Panicky residents of the community were said to have fled for their dear lives while many shop keepers hurriedly closed business for fear of reprisal attack.

The Edo State Police spokesman Mr. Kongtongs Bello confirmed the fatal shooting.

He said: “The assailants emerged from the bush and shot three person in the community. The police went to evaluate the victims and confirmed them dead. We have sent our men into the bush to ensure that the assailants are arrested.”
