The President of Israel, Isaac Herzog has declared the Iranian missiles attack on his country as a ‘declaration of war’, heightening tension of a likely reprisal attack.

This is as the President also confirmed that the Israeli authorities are “considering all options”.

Speaking with Sky News, Herzog said: “Every one of us should look and ask, what would we do had we been attacked in such an aggressive way as we were attacked last night.”

When asked if Israel would retaliate the attack against Iran, the Israeli president said they are “considering all options.”

“This is like a real war … this is a declaration of war.”

The New Diplomat reports that on Saturday, Iran launched a direct military assault on Israel, involving hundreds of drones, ballistic missiles, and cruise missiles.

The attack came less than two weeks after a suspected Israeli strike in Syria killed two Iranian Military Generals in an Iranian consular building. The Iranian reaction marked the first time Iran has launched a direct military assault on Israel, despite decades of enmity dating back to the country’s 1979 Islamic Revolution.
