Some armed men suspected to be bandits have reportedly abducted an ambassador at Zone E Extension Apo Resettlement Abuja.

According to some reports, the Ambassador whose name was withheld for security reasons was abducted after the armed men invaded his residence said to be at the foot of the mountain area of Zone E Extension, Abuja.

The ambassador was said to have been whisked away around 2am of Wednesday by the armed men numbering up to 10.

Meanwhile, police have already sent patrols in search of the abducted ambassador.

A source privy to the matter also revealed that kidnappers are yet to contact the family of the diplomat.

The abduction is coming a few days after a retired army officer, Brig.-Gen. Harold Udokwere (rtd), was attacked and killed in the middle of the night.

The suspected robbers had reportedly attacked the retired General at his home located at No 1, Sanga Street, Sunshine Homes by Kabusa Junction at Lokogoma Abuja around 3 a.m on Sunday.
