Moses Jituboh, who previously served as the Aide-de-Camp (ADC) to former President Goodluck Jonathan, has passed away.

He was said to have died on Friday at the age of 54 following a short illness.

The New Diplomat reports that Jituboh served as Jonathan’s ADC during his tenure as governor of Bayelsa State and continued in the role when Jonathan became Vice President and later President of Nigeria.

Following Jonathan’s defeat in the 2015 presidential election, Jituboh resumed his regular duties within the Nigeria Police Force, where he progressively advanced through the ranks. At one point, he was a candidate for the position of Inspector General of Police.

Jituboh concluded his service in the Nigeria Police Force in 2023, having held the position of Deputy Inspector General (DIG) with oversight of the Department of Research and Planning and, subsequently, the Department of Information and Communications Technology (ICT) at Force Headquarters.

Meanwhile, the Zone 16 Police Command, based in Bayelsa State, has conveyed its condolences to the Jituboh family and the residents of Bayelsa.

In a statement issued by the Zonal Public Relations Officer, Emonena Gunn, AIG Adebola Hamzat characterized the passing of Jituboh as a significant loss.

The statement reads in part: “He was enlisted into the Police Force on the 10th of June 1994 as a cadet Assistant Superintendent of Police. His contributions to the Nigeria Police Force, dedication to service, and integrity can never be forgotten.”
