The headquarters of the Christ Embassy Church in Oregun, Lagos State was gutted by fire on Sunday.

It was gathered that the auditorium of the Christ Embassy Church was badly affected by the tragic event.

The incident broke into the media space after videos of the scene trended on social media.

Meanwhile, a team of the Lagos State Fire and Rescue Service (LSFRS) was immediately deployed to the church and the fire that engulfed the main auditorium was put under control.

The Director of LSFRS, Margret Adeseye, made this confirmation while speaking with the press on Sunday in Lagos.

Revealing further details, Adeseye said the fire escalated because the church’s fire service couldn’t handle the situation properly.

She said the cause of the fire could not be ascertained immediately until after proper investigations.
