Professor Nduka Otiono, a renowned writer, journalist, and Canada based esteemed academic, lost his beloved mother, Madam Benedicta Uzochikwa Otiono last December, and her funeral ceremony is being held today at Ogwachukwu in Delta State, Nigeria.

She passed away at the venerable age of 91, leaving behind a legacy of love and wisdom.

The New Diplomat reports that her burial which is scheduled to hold today, January 17, 2025, would afford family and friends to gather to honor the remarkable life life and times of Madam Otiono and the profound impact she had on those around her.

In a heartfelt tribute, the Delta Literary Forum (DLF) known for its vibrancy celebrated the remarkable qualities of the beloved matriarch who has passed away. The tribute emphasized her profound legacy, characterized by her boundless wisdom and nurturing spirit.

The forum said Madam Benedicta Otiono’s influence was felt far beyond her immediate family, as she lovingly guided and inspired generations.

“No matter how old a matriarch may be, her breast of wisdom-weaning skills is inexhaustible as children and grandchildren will like to suck forever,” the Forum noted in their condolence message, adding that her longevity was a testament to good genes that would benefit future generations.
