Darius-IshakuThe Taraba State governorship election petition tribunal has declared Senator Aisha Alhassan of the All Progressives Congress (APC) winner of the April 11 Governorship election in the state ahead of governor Darius Ishaku of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).

Senator Aisha, a ministerial-designate, who is popularly called Mama Taraba, had filed a petition at the tribunal challenging INEC’s declaration of Ishaku as winner of that election. She prayed the tribunal to instead declare her winner having scored the highest number of lawful votes.

The tribunal’s ruling was delivered Saturday afternoon.
