Hansjorg Wyss, a business tycoon and billionaire, on Wednesday disclosed that he has interest in purchasing UCL champions, Chelsea Football Club from its owner, Roman Abramovich who is under growing scrutiny on the ongoing Russia-Ukraine Crisis.

Wyss, one of Switzerland’s richest men said he is considering to buy the Premier League giant through a consortium, involving three other people.

According to reports, Wyss revealed that Abramovich is looking to sell Chelsea, alongside some of its assets following indications that Britain could slam sanctions on Russian banks, businesses and pro-Kremlin tycoons.

The business tycoon also added that he will look into the details of any possible deal to buy Chelsea despite Abramovich’s huge demands, claiming that three American businessmen are currently part of the consortium.

“Abramovich is trying to sell all his villas in England, he also wants to get rid of Chelsea quickly,” Wyss told Blick.

“I and three other people received an offer on Tuesday to buy Chelsea from Abramovich.

“I have to wait four to five days now. Abramovich is currently asking far too much. You know, Chelsea owe him £2billion. But Chelsea has no money. As of today, we don’t know the exact selling price.”

This is coming after Abramovich step back from the daily running of Chelsea on Saturday, in the wake of Russia’s invasion of Ukraine.

The Russian who said he will remain as owner said he is handing the “stewardship and care” of the club to trustees from within the Blues’ foundation, as part of his commitment to the values of the club.
