  • Atiku mobilises for PDP’s victory in Adamawa and Kebbi

By Charles Adingupu

In what most political pundits may tag battle of the sexiest at the oncoming supplementary elections in Adamawa as the only female All Progressives Congress, APC governorship candidate, Aisha Dahiru Ahmed Binani is set to do wrestle power from the incumbent State Governor, Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) at this Saturday poll.

Though, the Governor was reported to be ahead of his opponent with over 31,000 votes margin.
But Aisha Binani was reported to be wiping sentiments into the political contest despite glaring evidences that she had lost the election.

It was alleged in certain quarters that the first lady, Aisha Buhari was reported to be behind her.

Sequel to the discontinuation of the election, some female power brokers reportedly mobilised women to protest in the Federal Capital Territory, FCT that the election was fraught with a lot of irregularities.

Undoubtedly, this sentiment may likely trigger sympathy of the Voters in the epic “man, woman Governorship election” of Adamawa state.

In a recently leaked audio video, Aisha Binani was sighted boosting of winning the election by all available means.

Already, Presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) at the 2023 general elections, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, has urged voters in Adamawa and Kebbi to vote for the party at the April 15 supplementary elections.

INEC fixed April 15 for supplementary governorship elections in the two states and in five senatorial districts, 31 federal constituencies and 58 state assembly constituencies.

He called on voters in Adamawa and Kebbi to ensure that they conducted themselves peacefully during and after the elections.

“In both Adamawa and Kebbi where the elections would be held, I make a special appeal to voters to ensure that PDP enjoys overwhelming support,’’ Abubakar pleaded.
