Fresh revelation has emerged on the identity of a 300-level Mass Communication student of the University of Lagos (UNILAG), Ms. Chidinma Ojukwu, who allegedly murdered the CEO of Super TV, Mr Usifo Ataga, in a service apartment in Lekki area of Lagos State.
This is as it was reported that Chioma, who identified herself as one of the siblings of Chidinma, while speaking with detectives at the Homicide Section of the State Criminal Investigation and Intelligence Department (SCIID), revealed that the prime suspect disowned her family due to some misunderstanding she had with her widowed mother. She said Chidinma also changed her surname.
According to Chioma, their father died while Chidinma was about 2 years old.
Recall Chidinma had earlier claimed that her parents separated when she was two years old and she started living with her uncle, Chijioke Obi, in the Mushin area of Lagos State.
“I schooled in Johnson Primary School and also a government primary school in Mushin. I later went to Sidman College in Sabo, Yaba. I was two-year-old when my parents separated, I was little, so while I was growing up, I stayed with my uncle, Mr Chijioke Obi, in Mushin. I don’t know if he bears Izu, but it was my uncle that trained me,” says Chidinma, who had confessed that she and Ataga were smoking and drinking when an argument broke out, leading to her stabbing him twice after which she withdrew N380, 000 from his account using his ATM card.
Reacting to insinuations that Chidinma’s lifestyle was as a result of a broken home, Chioma said her sister has not been obedient since childhood.
She stated that Chidinma has been allegedly smoking since about 11 years, marking a twist from the prime suspect’s earlier claim that she started smoking due to peer pressure in UNILAG.
Chioma also stated that Chidinma’s lifestyle always provoked their mother, and she constantly scolded her.
Speaking further, Chioma stated that the misunderstanding between their mother and Chidinma started when she was taken to her uncle’s place in the Mushin area.
Chioma claimed her sister didn’t like the idea and she stopped talking to the mother.
However, Chidinma was reportedly thrown out again because of her smoking attitude, as stated by Chioma.
She reportedly became rebellious and stayed away from her family. It was at this point that she met Ojukwu, who claimed to be her father. Ojukwu was said to have accommodated Chidinma in his residence at Yaba where the Police apprehended her last week Wednesday.
Chioma stated that their mother presently resides in the Mowe area of Ogun State, and hasn’t seen her daughter for about 10 years.
