Popular, controversial rapper Darlington Okoye, also known as Speed Darlington, is set to regain his freedom after spending a month in detention.

The legal counsel to the rapper, Stanley Alieke, made this announcement on Monday.

Alieke, who took to his Instagram handle confirmed that Speed Darlington has been granted bail.

“Apki has been granted bail by the court,” he wrote without including much information.

It would be recalled that the rapper was arrested on November 27 while performing at a show in Owerri, Imo State.

Although reasons for the arrest have not been officially ascertained, it was said to be connected to an alleged abuse of popular Afrofusion star Damini Ogulu, popularly known as Burna Boy.

The arrest came after Speed Darlington had taunted Burna Boy over his alleged affiliation with the embattled United States rapper Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs’ who is facing multiple charges for sexual exploitation and human trafficking.
