Governor Douye Diri of Bayelsa State has emerged as the Chairman of the South-South Governors’ Forum.
Diri’s chairmanship was announced after an election which was held on Tuesday in Bayelsa State.
South-South Governors made the unanimous decision at the Bayelsa State House, Creek Haven, on Tuesday.
Present at the meeting were Governor Umo Eno of Akwa Ibom State; Governor Bassey Edet Otu of Cross-River State; Governor Sheriff Oborevwori of Delta State and Governor Siminalayi Fubara of Rivers State while Governor Monday Okpebholo of Edo state was absent.
Governor Otu of Cross River will serve as the deputy chairman of the forum.
