The news of arrest of the self-acclaimed prime minister of Biafra, Simon Ekpa, was greeted with mixed reactions by Nigerians.

Ekpa and four other individuals were arrested in Finland, on Thursday, over terror-related activities.

According to a local report in Finland, Ekpa a self-declared Prime Minsiter of Biafra Republic in Exile, was remanded in custody by the district court of Päijät-Häme on suspicion of public incitement to commit a crime with terrorist intent.

The police added: “Claims will be heard in Päijät-Häme district court today, November 21.”

The Finnish police noted that Ekpa used his social media handles to incite violence against civilians and Government security agents in Nigeria

Ekpa had planned a new declaration of Biafra in two weeks time. The agitator had also reportedly outlawed tomorrow’s burial of senator Ifeanyi Uba in Igbo land.

Meanwhile, Nigerians have taken to social media to express their views about the arrest.
