Nigerian Singer, Simisola Ogunleye Kosoko, better known as Simi, has spoken on the Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC) directive to disconnect every SIM card that is not synchronised with valid National Identification Number (NIN).

In a statement on Tuesday, the NCC had given all telecommunications companies in Nigeria a14-day timeline to block SIM cards not registered with the NIN.

Outrage Over FG’s Directive To Telcos To Block Sims Without NIN

“The submission of NIN by subscribers to take place within two weeks (from today December 16, 2020 and end by 30 December 2020). After the deadline, all SIMs without NINs are to be blocked from the networks,” the statement read.

Following this report, the 32-year-old and mother of one  took to her official Twitter account @SympLySimi and said she does not want to be a part of the process yesterday.

“lol i want out,” she wrote.

In another post Simi tweeted “Honestly if they want to block it, they should block it. Cos I’m tired and maybe the 15 ppl that are able to register in 2 weeks can be calling theirself.”

Simi in a now-deleted tweet said the government keeps giving us nonsense, and we keep taking it.

“They continue giving us nonsense because we continue collecting it,” she said.

The action hasn’t gone down well with many Nigerians also as they swiftly took to her comment section to express their dissatisfaction regarding the news.

The sooner we stop taking their nonsense, the better for all of us. I only blame a certain region that sees it as a sin to criticise whoever is on sit as long as he/she is from their region.@EtusChizy

After retrieving it, what next? So you expect the hungry pple struggling for their daily bread to leave that and go and queue at telco’s offices to link their NIN? For how long with this covid protocol? So I will have to go to Airtel, glo,MTN, 9mobile offices for that?@Otyjonah

Until we all boycott everything, these pple will never take us serious coz every stupid decisions they come with we always buy.@RShregg
