Kashim Shettima, the Vice Presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) met behind closed doors with President Muhammadu Buhari at the State House, Abuja.

The meeting comes minutes after his unveiling as the running mate to APC presidential candidate, Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

The former Borno State Governor was in the company of his successor, Prof. Babagana Zulum. They met the President around 04:00 pm on Wednesday.

However, Shettima did not speak to journalists after the meeting as he was ushered out of the Villa premises through a different route.

The unveiling of Shettima as VP candidate as well as his meeting with President Buhari happened as much backlash continues to trail Tinubu’s choice of Muslim-Muslim ticket for the forthcoming presidential election.

Tinubu, the 2023 standard-bearer of APC had said he chose Shettima because “he is competent, capable and reliable.”
