Vice President Kashim Shettima has left Abuja on a trip to the United States to represent President Bola Ahmed Tinubu at the 79th Session of the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA).
This was disclosed in a statement issued by the Senior Special Assistant to the President on Media & Communications (Office of The Vice President), Stanley Nkwocha, on Sunday.
Nkwocha explained that Tinubu had directed Shettima to lead Nigeria’s delegation to the UNGA.
During the session, Shettima is expected to deliver Nigeria’s national address, participate in key bilateral meetings on the sidelines of the event, and engage in bilateral engagements .
The high-level General Debate themed “Leaving no One Behind: Acting Together for the Advancement of Peace, Sustainable Development and Human Dignity for Present and Future Generations” is scheduled to take place from September 24 to September 28, 2024 in New York, USA.
