…Blasts past govt. over billions spent without results

As security concerns remain a major challenge in the Northeast region of Nigeria, a former senator who represented Kaduna Central in the 8th National Assembly, Senator Shehu Sani, has tasked the new National Security Adviser Mr Nuhu Ribadu to show positive results against terrorism, banditry and other forms of insecurity in the country.

The former Senator in a post on Tuesday, said that the task before Ribadu was nothing short of ending all forms of insecurity by securing lives and property in the region.

He blamed the past government for wasting billions of dollars, holding hundreds of meetings, banning mining activities, the use of motorcycles, shutting down telecommunications and making spurious claims about bombardments of hideouts while the region remained a safe haven for terror kingpins like Bello Turji, Dogo Gide, Ado Aleru and co.

According to him, a different approach and better results are expected from the new NSA Boss.

It would be recalled Ribadu on Monday, took over from Maj-Gen Babagana Monguno (retd), and the retired Assistant Inspector General of Police in his maiden address promised to live up to expectations by securing the country from all forms of violent crimes from terrorism to banditry and kidnapping, amongst others.
