“We have over 70 players for the try-outs and the energy, as well as commitments displayed is really unbelievable. This shows there are so much talents right now in the country who are hungry for success because there is so much pain right now as United States would not be at the 2018 World Cup in Russia, and we have picked the best among the trialist,” he concluded.

Obinna Iloka, the tall ‘Captain Fantastic’ of SGFC Eagles also appreciates the efforts of the management targeted at ensuring success this season, “because we have always excelled when it comes to the round leather game, we have trust in the team’s leadership and just want to congratulate and welcome the new players to the team and family.

“Having trained with them, I really like their pace and composure, I know surely they will be a great asset to the club and also look forward to sharing the field and building many great memories with you guys, once again welcome boys and see you on Sunday, “Obinna enthused.

Speaking with one of the new players, Junior Velasquez, a skillful and energetic midfielder thanked the club for the opportunity given to him to play for the club side.

“Thank you for the opportunity to be part of this great team with rich history of football achievements and I also see myself lucky to be part of the few players picked and be able to play with you guys.

“I will do my best to help this team lift up as many trophies as we can, I believe we’ll be successful as a team and most importantly as a famfamil. I can’t wait to play under our captain Obinna Iloka to learn more and improve my game, see you guys on Sunday.” He stated.
