Bayelsa State Governor, Senator Duoye Diri has emerged as winner of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP primary election held at the popular Gabriel Okara Cultural Center in Yenagoa, the state capital.

Party delegates from the eight local government areas besieged the venue of the primary election that was conducted under the supervision of the Osun State Governor, Ademola Adeleke.

Senator Diri who was given the right of first refusal, was announced unopposed and winner of the election by his Osun State counterpart, Gov. Adeleke.

Senator Diri who is coming for second term in his post victory speech, thanked his PDP members for the confidence reposed on him, and promised to further improved on providing the much needed dividend of democracy.

He advised the entire people Bayelsa to be weary of desperate politicians who are ready to kill and maimed people in order to secure electoral victory.
Diri stated that power is given by God, and further called on such do or die politicians to keep the peace.
