The National Chairman of the opposition’s Peoples Democratic Party, (PDP) Prince Uche Secondus has congratulated the Zamfara State Governor, Bello Matawalle on his victory at the Supreme Court on Friday, urging him to be a good team leader.

According to Secondus, the Governor’s victory at the apex court came from God, urging him to work hard so as to make a lasting mark with the mandate.

On Friday, the apex court dismissed an application filed by the Abdulaziz Yari’s faction of the All Progressives Congress (APC) for a review of its May 24, 2019 judgment in the intra-party dispute in the Zamfara APC.

In a majority ruling on Friday, four members of a five-member panel, led by the Chief Justice of Nigeria (CJN), Justice Ibrahim Muhammad, dismissed the application on the grounds that it was without merit.

Justice Inyang Okoro, in the lead judgment, held that the application was a gross abuse of the process of the court.

The PDP National Chairman in a statement signed by him advised the Matawalle to unite the people and move quickly to tackle the myriad of challenges facing the state, most of which stems from bad governance witnessed in the state in the past.

“God has designed this position for you for a purpose and you must do everything humanly possibly not to disappoint both the people and the almighty who sent you there.

“Identify critical stakeholders who can help you achieve your goals and refuse to be intimidated because you have a special mandate from God,” Secondus said.

Secondus charged PDP members in the state to give the Governor all the needed cooperation and support to help him deliver good governance to the good people of Zamfara State.
