The Speaker of the Delta State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori, has hailed the Supreme Court judgment on Wednesday which declared Senator Ahmed Makarfi winner of the PDP leadership issues and the National Caretaker Committee as authentic.

The Speaker, while playing host to members of the State PDP who stormed his official residence in Asaba to rejoice with him on the victory of the Party at the Supreme Court, assured that the party will be delivered in 2019, noting that Delta State is a PDP state.

He said: “We will deliver PDP in 2019. We have done it before and we will even do it better in the next general elections.  This victory we are celebrating today is a sign of good things to come for our great party in 2019. The party is doing well and I am sure of a landslide victory for the party in 2019. Delta is a PDP State.”

According to him also;”Governor Okowa is working, the Smart Agenda is a reality. The victory that we are going to get in 2019 is going to be better than that of 2015. Now that we have won at the Supreme Court, let us remain united as one big family. We are sure of Victory in 2019. That is what I can assure you”.

The Honourable Speaker used the occasion to urge those who have left the party and those whom the Supreme Court judgment may not have favoured to put their grievances behind and come back to the party, just as he appealed to the State governor who is the leader of the party in the state to welcome back those who left the party.

“Those that left the party for one reason or the other and those affected by the judgment of the Supreme Court should come back to our great party. I want to appeal to our Governor who is the leader of the party in the State and the party chairman to accept those who left the party back. The party is big enough for everybody”, Speaker Oborevwori said.

Also reacting to the Supreme Court judgment during the visit to the Speaker, the Vice Chairman, PDP Delta South, Emmanuel Agbadagba, described the judgment as a sweet victory for the Party, adding “We are all happy today because this is a welcome development for our party. The judgment is a victory for democracy in our country”.
